Just Another Normal Day

As raindrops pummeled an already soaked playground
Bouncing up and down with such ferocity
Leaving puddles, some huge and some not, everywhere
Happy ducks, floating past on the crest of a wave
And then there were all the flowerers, delighted to be alive

North is always north, no getting away from that fact
This, springtime, just like any other, wet, oh so wet
Just another normal day for all who participate
Hand in hand, kids, playing as if sunshine and warmth was rife
Caring little for that chill, that wetness, just out to enjoy

A non-stop barrage of water, followed by more
And yet, they are happy, so happy, as swings go back and forth
Little is the deterrent that has become a deluge
Holiday spirit and some might say springtime madness, rife
Showing every passer by that misery should be found elsewhere
