Oliver

Oliver had made his decision, and he was sticking to it
His owner, engrossed in another dimension
Chitchat, her only outlet, in this, her only social life
Distracted, and Oliver knew it, for the short time he required

One step at a time, one nibble after another
On a mission that everyone could see, except his boss
Freedom, his only goal

In a short space of time, he was gone, like a bullet
Standing, ten feet away, a smile as large as a Cheshire cat
Achievement of the most unbelievable kind
His leash, separated by razor sharp pearly whites, in two pieces

Tail at the ready and a face that issued a stern warning

Bringing tears of laughter into a room often filled with sadness
Oliver, with a black eye, had won his second fight, outright
